Local photographer Zack Smith to hold “Exit Stage Right” photography exhibit

in New Orleans’ famed Preservation Hall, kicking off Voodoo Music + Arts Experience

Series showcases local and national musicians amid backdrop of 14th annual Festival

NEW ORLEANS (October 26, 2012)– On view from October 26 – November 26, ”Exit Stage Right” will allow New Orleans’ legendary Preservation Hall to serve as a gallery space for prominent local photographer Zack Smith.

Since 2008, backstage at the Preservation Hall Stage has harbored a pop-up portrait studio inside the 80,000+ attended Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans’ City Park. In the ensuing years, Smith has continually evolved this unconventional studio, where he captures unique portraits of a passing parade of local and national musicians, as well as friends and passersby.

Each year, Smith changes up his shooting approach and background, but always staying true to his comfort zone of shooting medium and large format film cameras. Over the years, Smith has amassed an impressive cultural document of the artists that are shaping the musical landscape of New Orleans, Louisiana and beyond.
