NOLA NOW! The Human Figure

June 21, 2012

This show opens Saturday night, June 23rd. I am happy to be showing some work for the first time in my 12 years here at the Contemporary Art Center. I have done just about everything at the CAC, from being photographic archivist for many years, using it as a studio countless times for portraits, and whatnot…now i have a photograph up in there.

And the artist list is HEAVY! – “NOLA NOW II: The Human Figure (1982 & 2012) is a celebration of the great diversity of individuals that populate the city of New Orleans and beyond.” – CAC

The Music Box New Orleans Shoot for NPR.org, where a cast of New Orleans characters shone!

June 13, 2012

I had a great shoot this weekend as well as yesterday documenting the last concert at the amazing Music Box and Shantytown installation. Put on by New Orleans Airlift co-conspirators Delaney Martin and Jay Pennington, and curated by the amazing talented street artist SWOON the show on Friday and Saturday was conducted by the one and only Quintron – see below:

and a great article on NPR about it by Ann Powers: http://www.npr.org/blogs/therecord/2012/06/11/154776190/a-night-out-in-new-orleans-new-bohemia  I also got to do an intimate portrait session with most of the artists of the Music Box/Dythrambalina and a fun ass group portrait…dogs, friends, jumping ladies. You know, the drill.
