- I provided conference documentary photography of all speakers, events, award ceremonies, breakouts, and parties.
- I also provided video services at this conference by filming all events and editing a 3-minute sizzle reel of highlights.
Job Details:
To ensure the highest quality output, I dedicated two cameras, one for still photography and the other for video. This setup enabled me to smoothly switch between the two formats, ensuring that no critical moments were missed. I have to admit, this was not the easiest workflow to get used to as it required lugging alot of gear around. As hindsight is 20/20 I would budget an assistant next time to roll a gear car around with me to shoot.
Additional Notes:
I found immense satisfaction in adopting a multifaceted role during the AAPA 2023 Conference. Balancing the art of photography with the dynamics of videography allowed for a more immersive and comprehensive documentation of this significant event. Hiring an assistant to roll gear around would be helpful next year. I had thought about having that assistant also double as an audio/lighting grip as well if we needed to do any ‘on the fly’ video interviews, video testimonials, or conference attendee interviews. My data and power systems were well organized at a team headquarters which allowed me to leave batteries charged, and computers linked in to organize downloads.
